Market Goats

​All market animals must provide photos to include a head shot picture and profile picture of the animal with an official USDA tag, and exhibitor in the photo. These pictures can be emailed or postmarked according to date table.

Classes will be broken by weight.

Weights: Minimum weight is 50 lbs.; there is no maximum weight. Any market goats not making the 50 lb. minimum will not be allowed to show.

Exhibitors will not be permitted to lift the front legs of goats off the ground to brace goats during showing.

Wethers or does may be shown.

All market goats must be uniform slick shorn with 3/8 inch of hair or less above the knee and hock joints to include the head, excluding the tail.All wethers and does must be individually identified with an official USDA tag.

Breeding Does

​No registration papers will be required for breeding doe classes.

Yearling does cannot have 2-year-old teeth.

No Permanent teeth can be visible at weigh-in, if they are, the doe will be placed in a yearling class.

Goats must be broke to lead. Exhibitors may use halters, collars, chains or collar/chain with a short lead when showing.

Bracing of breeding does will not be allowed.
